Where do all the queer hippie boys and girls go?

We are a tribe scattered far and wide. Even in the urban jungles in which we find ourselves, it seems like we rarely find like-minded queer souls - or even nice people to look at!

Here are some places to seek...

• The local college or university on a sunny afternoon
• Whole Foods, Rainbow, other natural foods co-ops and groceries
• REI, EMS, other outdoor sports stores
• Concerts and musical events (the obvious one)
• Public transit! (BART is an amazing adventure)
• Hip neighborhood coffee houses (forget Starbucks)
• Vegetarian/vegan restaurants (Golden Era in San Francisco on the weekend)
• The "hip" neighborhood or business district
• The "gay" neighborhood or business district (God forbid they be one in the same - utopia!)
• Faerie Gatherings!!
• Rainbow Gatherings
• Renaissance Faire
• Society for Creative Anachronism - Clan Blue Feather
• Raves and other dance events
• Public meditations and rituals (is cruising a spiritual practice? ;)
• State and National parks (rare but entirely possible)
• Bike Messenger services (longhaired hippie and grunge factor - drool)
• Financial district (sparse but occasional jewels)
• Rallies and protests (not that I'm suggesting you go simply to pick people up!)
• The city park on a sunny afternoon
